Fairatmos

2025 IN-HOUSE

Making climate-tech worth believing in.

Fairatmos connects carbon project developers with the global standards and investors they need to move forward. I joined as their first designer with no system and only workable visual language. The mandate came with three distinct fronts: AtmosWatch, a geospatial monitoring dashboard for carbon projects across Southeast Asia, a design system that brought consistency to a product that desperately needed it, and a visual identity that made a serious B2B company feel like it was done by humans, but credible in its workings.

The goal was to win people's trust through what they see and feel — it's never easy committing to something that costs a lot and can last for more than 30 years without said credibility.

EXHIBIT 1 : ATMOSWATCH

As a "swiss-army" monitoring tool designed for project owners, managers, and on-site surveyors, this tool was designed to eliminate on-site monitoring costs for major activities over the course of a project's commitment.

WIDGETS FOR SCALABILITY

No two dashboards look the same, because no two carbon projects are.

AtmosWatch is built around a widget system where each data view from satellite imagery, tCO2e calculations, project timelines, and development goals, can be surfaced or hidden depending on what the project needs in its lifecycle.

Everything is designed in a warm and calming mood to fit in walls, while also offering a variety of choices in its subjects.

MOBILE COMPANION

MOBILE COMPANION

Field operators don't always have stable connection when working. The companion app works without it — log everything from tree measurements to local grievances on-site, and sync back whenever you're back online.

IDENTITY AND BRAND

A carbon project can take decades. The design has to feel like it understands that.

Every decision across AtmosWatch and the brand identity came back to the same question: does this feel credible enough that someone would commit years of work to it? Trust is the unconditional product requirement here.

Replanting the tree

The Fairatmos brand had history before I arrived. Rather than starting over, I worked with what existed by refining, extending, and giving it the consistency it never had.

Colors that splash upward

The five colors weren't chosen for the brand first — they were chosen for AtmosWatch, then carried upward. The design system and the refreshed company identity ended up speaking the same language because they started from the same place.

Contouring the design language

Fairatmos is built on geospatial expertise through the way land is read, mapped, and understood. The topographic texture running through the visual identity is a nod to that, a quiet reference to the terrain the company actually works in.

One system, everywhere it needed to be

What started as a product design system eventually found its way into blog posts, pitch decks, marketing materials, and internal culture.
